CV IOANNA LIOUTSIA - ENGLISH

Ioanna Lioutsia was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1992. She is a PhD researcher on Performance Art in Balkans (1970-2000) and its aesthetic and politic dimensions (Theatre Studies department, University of Peloponnese). She holds an integrated master degree in Directing (Theatre department, AUTh, 2018), a BA in Acting (Contemporary Theatre Drama School, 2017) and a BA in History&Archaeology with specialization in History of Art (AUTh, 2014), while she never stopped participating in theatre and dance seminars on various subjects (practice & theory).

She works as an actress, director and Drama in Education facilitator, mainly conducting and running programmes about immigration and refugees in cooperation with Amnesty International, but also facilitating workshops and lessons (one semester in the University of Peloponnese) on directing and performance art.
Moreover, she has participated in international conferences, such as: International Online Symposium “Performing Agora”, organized by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Performative Arts (Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, UK), the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of the Peloponnese (Greece), and the Department of Arts and Design at Staffordshire University (UK) 2021, στο International Theatre Conference “This and that and that: The multiple roles of the Theatre Artist – the double meaning of Performative Criticism”, organized by the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, IATC, Critical Stages, ITI UNESCO 2021,
SDEA Theatre Arts Conference: “Creative Disruption: Exploring New Ground” 2021, XV Theatre Conference 2019 (Jaipur, India), as well as in series of talksorganized by Athens Epidaurus Festival etc.


She was one of the presenters in the TV talkshow “SKT of AUTh” in state channel ERT3 (2018-2019).
She has written the following books: 12 short plays for 19 World Days (for use in primary school, 2021), Silence in two spaces, (poetry, 2019), Arrythmias (poetry, 2016), Talks on Mi+ (poetry, 2014) and has translated two Henrik Ibsen’s plays: Norma or Politician’s love (2020) and St. John’s Eve (to be published in 2022). Poems, as well as texts of her about theatre and literature, are published in poetry anthologies and magazines. She speaks English (C2), Italian (B2) and German (A2).
